Othniel (Hebrew: עָתְנִיאֵל בֶּן קְנַז) is a Biblical character whose story is found in the Book of Judges. He was the first judge of Israel.

Othneil was from the tribe of Judah and defeated the Cananites. As a result, Caleb gave him his daughter, Achsah, to marry. After the Israelites won the war they lived in peace for forty years.
