Rachel was the daughter of Rebecca's brother Laban. She is Jacob's second wife and mother to Joseph and Benjamin and died in childbirth giving birth to Benjamin. Jacob loved Rachel more than her sister Leah. When she died, Jacob was devastated and raised his two sons and Joseph was his favorite.
